This product’s Coachtopia Leather is crafted with at least 50% recycled leather scraps that might otherwise have been sent to landfill. By reimagining materials that already exist, it delivers the premium look, feel and texture of a Coach leather product, but with a carbon reduction of at least 60% compared to new, virgin leather. Quite a step up from garbage, right?

Towards nothing new

In addition to its Coachtopia leather exterior, we’ve thought about every part of this product—from its thread to its hangtags to its hardware—in order to prioritize recycled, repurposed and renewable alternatives instead of new, virgin materials. Both its shell and supple leather lining are made with Coachtopia Leather—crafted from at least 50% high quality leather scraps. Its thread is 100% recycled polyester and its hardware is partially made from 70% recycled industrial plastic waste. Even the labels stitched inside are made from 100% recycled nylon.

Edgy stuff

This product’s Upcrafted binding is ingeniously patchworked from the high-quality, but small and irregular leather scraps that are left over after we cut our bag patterns from leather hides. By finding a new use for materials that already exist and might otherwise have been sent to landfill, Upcrafted leathers deliver a beautiful artisanal look while helping us to avoid the creation of new materials.

This Coachtopia product comes with a unique digital passport that holds not only details of its materials, design and impacts, but is able capture its unique life story, which will continue to evolve as it is used and reused on its circular journey. Love the resin details, paired with the resin chain this is an unbeatable combo. So many ways to wear it and fits what I need. I got the green color and is one of my fav shades offered. The quality is top notch. The recycled leather looks and feels high quality, as does the hardware. The resin details are a cute touch! I get lots of compliments from strangers on it. It's got a cute retro vibe. I wish I held a little more, but that's my only complaint. The optional belt that comes with it feels like a nice bonus too!
