Have taste, love waste
This product’s Coachtopia Leather is crafted with at least 50% recycled leather scraps that might otherwise have been sent to landfill. By reimagining materials that already exist, it delivers the premium look, feel and texture of a Coach leather product, but with a carbon reduction of at least 60% compared to new, virgin leather. Quite a step up from garbage, right?
Towards nothing new
In addition to its Coachtopia leather exterior, we’ve thought about every part of this product—from its thread to its hangtags to its hardware—in order to prioritize recycled, repurposed and renewable alternatives instead of new, virgin materials. Both its shell and supple leather lining are made with Coachtopia Leather—crafted from at least 50% high quality leather scraps. Its thread is 100% recycled polyester and its hardware is partially made from 70% recycled industrial plastic waste. Even the labels stitched inside are made from 100% recycled nylon.
Community collaboration
This product features prints by Sabrina Lau, a 25-year old, New-York-based designer and illustrator whose vision of Coachtopia is inspired by her love of texture and surreal juxtapositions, as well as her encounters with nature in her home city. It’s the first in an ongoing series of collaborations with members of the Coachtopia community that we’ll continue to launch in limited edition drops as Coachtopia grows and evolves.
